We aim to create a friendly environment where members can exchange experiences and share difficulties in both study and daily life in order to help one another overcome challenges. KUVS strives to connect older and younger generations to build a strong and sustainable organization. All activities of KUVS are dedicated to fostering a united, dynamic, and resilient Vietnamese community at Kyoto University.

Mission:
To build a united, close-knit, and mutually supportive Vietnamese community at Kyoto University. To create an environment for sharing experiences and skills, enabling members to develop comprehensively and achieve success in both their careers and personal lives. To promote exchange and close cooperation between Vietnamese universities and Kyoto University.

Operating principles:
To aim toward serving the common interests of the community and society. To carry out all activities based on unity, sharing, and the sense of responsibility of each member. To encourage and create favorable conditions for every member to maximize their potential and contribute to the development of the community. To build and nurture strong and sustainable cooperative relationships with partners both within and outside the country.

Main activities:

Kyodai Talk: One of the activities contributing to the Vietnamese community in Japan is Kyodai Talk. This is a regular event organized by KUVS, aiming to invite alumni and professionals who have studied, conducted research, or worked at Kyoto University to share their valuable experiences. At Kyodai Talk, guest speakers offer in-depth discussions about their life stories, study and work journeys in Japan, memorable experiences, as well as lessons learned about Japanese culture and people. The topics covered are diverse, ranging from scientific research and entrepreneurship to essential soft skills for achieving success.

Kyodai Support: KUVS devotes great effort to supporting Vietnamese students at the university. Right after enrollment, new students receive detailed guidance on various procedures to help them quickly settle into their new life. Throughout their studies, KUVS continuously updates and shares timely information on scholarship opportunities, internships, and suitable job openings for each individual. In addition, through the group “Lunch Team – Have You Eaten Yet?”, members can share their academic difficulties as well as personal concerns to receive advice and encouragement. KUVS aims to accompany and support its members in personal growth and in successfully completing their academic journey.

Kyodai Exchange: To expand relationships and strengthen connections among student communities, KUVS organizes welcome events for new members and appreciation ceremonies for graduating members, helping to connect students within the university. In addition, the association frequently participates in and co-organizes exchange activities with student groups from other universities in the region. Joint events such as seminars, fairs, and sports festivals provide members with opportunities to interact and make friends with international peers.

Kyodai Reunion: Recognizing the important role of alumni in the long-term development of the community, KUVS regularly organizes activities specifically for former students. Every year, alumni from different generations gather to share experiences and create opportunities for employment and collaboration. In addition, networking activities with universities and research institutes in Vietnam help promote scientific research cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two countries. The solidarity and dedication to community of KUVS alumni serve as a driving force for the organization’s sustainable development.

Website: https://www.facebook.com/KUVS.jp
