Introducing Co-Organizer: Hiroshima University
Hiroshima University was established on May 31, 1949, formed by merging eight pre-existing institutions in Hiroshima Prefecture, with Hiroshima Prefectural Medical University joining in 1953. Starting in 1973, most faculties were consolidated onto a single 250-hectare campus in the Kagamiyama District of Higashi-Hiroshima City, while the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry remain in Hiroshima City.
Hiroshima University is now widely recognized as one of Japan’s most prestigious and broadly based universities, participating in Japan’s Super Global University initiative and a wide network of international academic partnerships.
HU maintains deep ties with Vietnam, cooperating across semiconductors, human resource development, agriculture, and more – through its Vietnam Center in Ho Chi Minh City, a satellite campus with Thai Nguyen University, and scholarship programs for Vietnamese students. HU counts over 400 Vietnamese alumni and active alumni networks in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
